Hollywood Actress and Model Carla Orlandi Returns to Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, PR. – Hollywood actress and fashion model Carla Orlandi, formerly known as Charleen Mendoza returned to Puerto Rico October 13.
Orlandi, was famously known in Puerto Rico during the 80’s and early 90’s for her signature black bob and Marilyn Monroe bombshell look. You may remember her from the award winning commercial, Suiza Fruit and many other commercials. Orlandi also appeared on the cover of many magazines such as Caras, Scene, Marie Claire and modeled for Wella, Christian Dior, and numerous designers on the island.
Since then, Orlandi worked as a high fashion runway, print and commercial model in New York, Japan, Germany and Venezuela. She later moved to Los Angeles as an actress and is most recognized for her roles on the hit TV shows, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Valley of the Dolls, and the feature film, Five Hour Friends.
Upon touchdown, the airplane passengers broke out in cheer and clapping. “I don’t think there are words to express my love and gratitude for Puerto Rico.” Orlandi said as she arrived Tuesday evening. “I’m home!”
Orlandi, who was born in Santurce, is here to reconnect to her humble beginnings and conduct research for her autobiographical book, Baby Lost and Found. Orlandi explains, “I was a black-market baby born to an American tourist, but raised by my beautiful Puerto Rican family as their own.” Orlandi asks the public for help, “I know there are more babies like me who were born at the Women’s Clinic so I urge them to contact me at monroeheart@gmail.com.”
Orlandi discovered her biological family after nearly 50 years of searching. She is 100% Boricua but her exotic look is explained by her Swedish, English, Scottish and Indigenous Arctic DNA.
Orlandi will appear on Instagram Live with Maria Maria TV next Wednesday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. She will also appear on Contigo Siempre, the television magazine for Today’s Woman, that airs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:00 p.m. on Channel 13 and online at www.canal13pr.tv.
